Need an idea?

Everyone says it... because it's TRUE... "Doesn't summer seem to fly after the Fourth of July?" Well, yes. Yes, it does, and "school brain" has taken me by storm over the past few days. (I had the first "school dream" last night, too -- hence the dark photo!) I tried to squelch "school brain syndrome" by organizing the folders and files on my favorite USB (flash) drive.

It seemed like such an innocent, "yeah...I-can-do-this-and-still-watch-taped-Fixer-Uppers-in-the-middle-of-the-night" kind of productivity. You know -- to nudge me back to warp speed.

Then...I started quietly digging around for my flash drive...and I still can't find it. I know it's here somewhere. It's hiding, but the other eight were fun to peek back at... I found lots of family photos, recipes, and some lesson ideas for the new TpT store.

It's been an interesting few days getting that all set up. I wasn't sure exactly what to do. So, I started by checking all my clipart TOUs (Terms of Use) to see which ones will work for commercial use. (I'm a follow-the-rules library girl.) Then, I had to go buy a few licenses for my favorite KG fonts -- and I'll be honest, I bought a few new ones, too. (I swear, they're like Skittles or something!)

I dug this old blog up from 2008... and was surprised that it was still here waiting on me! It'll do for now...maybe I'll dust off my rusty old HTML skills at some point and pretty it up a bit. I'll put that on the back burner, I think.

Of course, I pulled up TpT and purchased some new digital papers, borders, clipart, etc. Then, as a good librarian I started doing my research -- AKA looking for newbie advice.

First, I found this "Kesler Science" guy and hit the jackpot with his free "25 Things I Wish I Had Known as a New Teachers pay Teachers Seller" freebie. Seriously, there's good stuff waiting for you at https://goo.gl/vnm9TP. (Thank you, Mr. Kesler!)

Next, I worked through Tabitha Carro's "Smartphone Marketing
School" course at http://tabithacarro.com/ -- which was also
helpful little gem! (See my "Circle Crop" above.) And from there,
I looked up a YouTuber named Kayse Morris who had some solid
advice for newbies (and besides her videos make me laugh).
Just a start..but "school brain" has enjoyed herself immensely.

Hope you find something to put a sparkle in your eyes today!
